President James Carson wants to say congratulations to the 60+ new Teamster members at Laidlaw Bus in Orland and Calais. We are very proud of tireless hard work and dedication by everyone involved making this a successful organizing campaign. Laidlaw International employees in Orland and Calais http://www.laidlaw.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=145371&p=irol-home exercised their democratic right voting to choose Teamsters Local 340 to represent them. First Student is making a $2.8 Billion dollar acquisition of Laidlaw, on the following website you can read about the merger http://www.cnbc.com/id/20993300/for/cnbc.

There was a tremendous amount of work that went into this by many people. President James Carson also wants to thank Joint Council 10 Organizer Roger Travers and Darlene Page who is a new member from the recent successful First Student organizing campaign in Hampden and Deere Isle for all of the hard work they did to bring this to a successful conclusion, we also want to thank the organizers from the IBT.
