| Sylvia
currently resides in Greene. She has been an active member
of the Teamsters since 1988. Sylvia had been employed at Philips
Elmet in Lewiston for the past 14 years. During that time
she had served as a Shop Steward on second shift and then
as the Chief Steward for a bargaining unit of nearly 300 members.
During
her time at Philips Elmet she has gained valuable experience
in grievance handling and resolution, contract negotiations,
employee/employer committee and communication with a large
and diverse membership.
Sylvia
is a graduate of the AFL-CIO Union Councilor training school.
She has also served as a Local Education Coordinator in conjunction
with a program run by the IBT. She has successfully completed
an arbitration course at the Teamsters Leadership Academy
in Washington D.C. |
