“Alex has established himself as a leader and is a fine example for all others to follow. I can best describe Alex as hardworking and a consummate team player. He motivates others to exert the effort necessary to attain the organizational goals of the department.”

We would like to Congratulate Timmy Guerrette ( EricaTim Guerrette) from Caribou Fire & Ambulance Department on his retirement. Timmy served as Shop Steward for many years and will be missed by all of us. May you enjoy many years of retirement!

Teamsters Local 340 member and South Portland UPS Local Sort employee, Bob Didonato, discovered a misdirected letter that was found while sorting letterbox pickups. To determine where it should be sorted, he had to look at it more closely. It became clear that the letter contained a cry for help. Since it was not addressed properly, Bob looked into it more closely and found that the person was sending out what appeared to be their last respects and were fearful for the care of their pet. Since this letter seemed very serious, Bob contacted the local authorities. The quick response of the South Portland and Portland Police Departments, combined with Bob taking the next steps, led to the misdirected sender getting the professional help that was so badly needed. Way to go Bob! Our community and customers that you serve, are a better place because you are in it!

CONGRATULATIONS to Rockland UPS service provider and shop steward Steve Clifford for his Circle of Honor achievement, celebrating 25 years of safe driving. Great achievement!

Local 340 is proud of Officer John Bagley from Rockland PD (left) and Sergeant Luke Dyer from Van Buren PD (right) who are riding in the Police Unity Tour! They have ridden hundreds of miles to honor those who have died in the line of duty, a tragedy that has happened all too frequently of late. Today they arrived at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in DC. They ride for those that died, and for that, we thank them.

These gentlemen are the only two riders from Maine, and we are proud to say they are Teamsters.

CONGRATULATIONS to Baileyville Public Works Shop Steward Jeff Pratt on his retirement! After almost 35 years, today Jeff walked out of the Public Works garage for the last time to lead a leisurely life of fishing and hunting. Enjoy, Jeff! Pictured: Jeff Pratt with Business Agent Stacey Place.
