Dan
joined the Teamsters Union in 1987 when he went to
work part-time at United Parcel Service in South Portland.
Earning his way through college, Dan received a Bachelors
of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University
of Southern Maine. In 1994, Dan went to work full-time at
U.P.S. as a Package Car Driver. By 2002, Dan had become
a Shop Steward in the Wells Center. Dan was a strong advocate
for member’s rights and fought hard to enforce
their Collective Bargaining Agreement. Dan took a leave
of absence from U.P.S. in 2008 to work full-time for Teamster’s
Union Local #340 as a Business Agent. Dan is an active
supporter of D.R.I.V.E. and was a labor delegate to
the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Dan has been
involved in organizing campaigns, contract negotiations,
mediation and grievance hearings. Dan is a firm believer
in worker’s rights because worker’s rights
are human rights! Dan lives in Southern Maine with his wife
and two sons. |
